Arlene’s Notes:  One of the great blessings of the partnership between Suzy and myself is the synergy of taking a germ of an idea, watering it with collaboration, and then watching it grow into something exciting.  Our new book, “The Big Book of Fibery Rainbows” is a thrilling manifestation of  this process.  And, so with tremendous pride, with this blog post, we launch our first printed book!!!  Read on to find out more…

It has arrived, the BIG Book of Fibery Rainbows!

Suzy and Arlene have been dreaming, planning, scribbling and experimenting with much fiber and many tools, and now here we are!!  If you can’t wait any longer,  you can click this button and order straight away, or scroll down to watch the preview video first!

This book is an imagination prompt that doesn’t bog you down in colour theory or rules – instead we use the beautiful, wide palette of the rainbow as our basis for step by step instructions to create and manage colours the way you want them to be in your fiber prep (aka how to make magical fairy fiber).

We begin with an examination of what rainbows are and how so many colours can work successfully together in one palette.   This is our foundation and how we use the combination of a range of (any) multiple colours to make beautifully pleasing eye candy yarn. We know you love colour as we do, but we also know that you are looking for practical content.  The Big Book of Fibery Rainbows is rich with instructions that take you through the use of different fiber tools, colour blending to create your own palette, and then how to combine those into stunning spinnable fiber preparations. dyed-romney

We have added especially developed, step by step yarn spinning recipes to make the best use of the amazing multi-coloured fiber preparations we have created, from rolags to blended batts, combed top and hackled fiber.  These recipes show you how to use and manage those wonderful colours you have created and organised!

We are honoured to be able to begin the book with a wonderful Foreword written by Lexi Boeger (Pluckyfluff).  Here is one of our favorite quotes:  “…the subject matter stays focused on frame of mind and experimentation which will ultimately create artists instead of followers. There is plenty of brick and mortar information to be had, however. Loaded with easy to read how-to’s and step by step descriptions of the many different methods to creating unique color ways, Rainbows will teach you plenty while making you feel like you discovered it all on your own! It truly is the treasure at the end of the rainbow.”

jumbly

We hope you enjoy the colour play, experimentation, ideas, and techniques we have brought together in this BIG book 🙂

Follow the link to ORDER YOUR COPY right here via Amazon.coms ‘CreateSpace’! But first you might like to join us for a browse through the pages to see whats in store for you inside the book 🙂

Dear Ms. Suzy and Ms. Arlene,
    Good evening.

Congratulations upon the completion of your book the “The Big Book Of Fibery Rainbows” or as I shall refer to it my “Fiber Bible”. This is another example of what two people who believe in hard work, persistence and love of their Art can bring forth into the world for all of us to reap. I thank you and your families for the many hours spent away from them to create this work of Art.

Sincerely from the heart of Texas,
    Miss Dahlia
