Majacraft Fusion Engine Drum Carder
This is the Fusion Engine, Majacraft's amazing drum carder. This carder is designed to perform exceptionally, and to reduce or eliminate the common carding issues experienced with other drum carders. The Fusion Engine has a higher and more efficient carding ratio than most carders, so blends fibres more thoroughly with fewer passes. With no exposed gears or belts, and the unique drum design, fibres do not get where they shouldn't and cleaning of the carder is minimised. Removal of the interchangeable drums makes that rare cleaning simple and easy.
The best feature of this carder is the actual experience you get from using it! The first turn of the crank will give you that 'aha' moment as you realise exactly WHY this carder is so special. It is effortless and smooth and feels like the machine you will keep using forever!
The 128tpi drum can be purchased separately as an accessory to your Fusion Engine Carder. It is very simple and easy to swap the drums, now you can simply choose the right carding cloth and match it up with your fiber! We made a handy 'how to' video to help you! https://youtu.be/dedgbtxn0kU

Majacraft Carder Drum Bag
The best way to store and transport your extra carder drum, this sturdy bag is made of very tough PU coated polyester Oxford in the Majacraft 'green' colour. It has a rugged zipper designed to make taking your drum in and out with ease. Your precious carder drum will be safe and sound in this lovely wee bag! (image coming)
Majacraft Direct Injection Tray
The Majacraft Direct Injection Tray is designed as an accessory for the Fusion Engine Drum Carder, easily fitted below the level of the licker-in drum, and giving you a second option for feed-in placement of your fibers, in this case, providing you the ability to card for texture! Using the Direct Injection Tray ensures your fibers and locks are dropped onto the main drum with the least opening up possible, giving you all the texture you want in your art batts!
Majacraft Hackle (Two Row)
This is actually one of Suzy's favourite tools! She started sharing the hackle love some years ago during workshops, and soon found she was not the only one to feel that the resulting fiber preparation is the closest we will ever get to magical fairy fiber! The Hackle is a fantastic tool for colour management as well as the perfect instrument for creating your own wonderfully easy to draft combed top. This will give you a worsted preparation for spinning smooth yarns, as well as allow you to add your bling and get the colours exactly where you want them.
Check out Suzy's video below for ideas on how to use your hackle!
The special thing about the Majacraft hackle, that we believe makes it a market leader among hackles, is the method Majacraft has invented for attaching the tines/pins and keeping them in place, they are consistently straight and even and do not bend or end skew with use. The pins are smooth and not too sharp, and there is a clever 'lid' that not only protects you (and others) from the pins when not in use but also functions to keep your fiber in place when you diz it off.
Also included are special Majacraft clamps. The clamp block is drilled at an angle and has a solid rubber top to ensure that the hackle is held firmly on your table and the rubber will prevent damage to the table.
This is the same as the double row hackle above, but this hackle has a single row, more suited for medium to coarse fibers to organise them to spin a worsted yarn!
Majacraft Double Pitch Hand Combs
Majacraft supplies mini wool combs in either single or double pitch. They are lightweight, strong and attractively made from solid wood. The combs have stainless steel pins with polished points. The design ensures they are comfortable in your hands with the comb angle being the most efficient for combing all types of fibre.
Majacraft has also developed a new technique of bonding the pins in with a very tough resin. The pins are positioned perfectly straight and perfectly even on every comb.
We love to use these combs for colour blending as well as fleece preparation, you can add in sparkle and effect fibers as you comb to create magical fairy fiber. The combs are also the perfect size for you to hold and spin the fiber straight off the comb for complete control of your fine yarns!
The comb dimensions are:
handle length, 160mm (6.5 inches)
point length, 55mm (2 1/4inches)
comb width, 80mm (3.5 inches)
Your Majacraft hand combs come complete with wooden holder.
Majacraft Hand Comb System (Double Pitch)
This is the Majacraft Double Pitch Comb Set, fantastic for when you want to remove the fiber from your combs as this system allows you to clamp one comb to the table as you diz off the fiber. See our listing for the Hand Combs above for details on the combs themselves
This comb set includes, Mini-Combs, Comb Holder, Clamp, Comb Block, Diz and Threader
Majacraft Blending Board
The blending board is a tool for producing rolags for spinning, and batts for felting. The cloth is a general purpose 72 TPI cloth that measures 210mm (8.3") wide by 300mm long (11.8").
The Majacraft boards have several extra features to set them apart. The cloth is securely bonded to the board and we have added caps to the each end of the cloth the ensures the cloth will not pick up as well as producing a very tidy finish with no frayed or cut ends. Each board has an elegant metal handle that is both attractive and sturdy.
The board comes with a brush to help draft your fibre and dowels to roll rolags from the board for spinning are also included.
The Majacraft website has lots of resources to help you along the way (http://www.majacraft.co.nz/preparation/blending_board.php) and you can also view and download the "Rolling Rolags' tutorial that Suzy wrote for Majacraft right here below this listing.
The Majacraft flick carder is super lightweight, with our own ergonomic aluminium handle that puts your hand directly over your working area for less wrist strain and more control. It has a thin curved bamboo laminate mounting plate that is both light and very strong . The carding cloth is finished with plastic caps that gives the flicker clean and elegant lines with no cloth ends cloth showing.
It is a simple tool but you can do a lot with it! Use it for preparing locks for carding, or opening them up to spin directly! Check out Suzys Tutorial for a great project done with flick carded fiber! (using the prototype for this flicker brush) Click on the image to find the article.
The working area of the cloth is 95mm x 55mm (3.75" x 2") and uses 72TPI cloth.
