It is my pleasure to offer you a new Fiberygoodness online course! This course comprises of a combination of downloadable (printable) workbook, video content, and live classes.

In this course we will create custom looms and weave pattern pieces for no-cut sewing projects. You choose your pattern, Suzy will help you make it!

The concept behind a Custom Pattern Loom is to weave fabric that is already in the shape of the pattern pieces needed for a sewing project, such as bags, hats, toys, and accessories. This allows for bespoke woven fabrics specific to the chosen pattern, with the ability to custom design every aspect of the weave, including the direction of the warp and weft, the flow of the weave around the pattern piece, and the placement of color and design elements. Custom, or bespoke Pattern Looms allow for the creation of woven fabrics that match the sewing pattern pieces and eliminate the need to cut your woven fabric in order to create your piece, resulting in a unique and personalized finished product.

Workbook

You will receive a wonderfully detailed course workbook to download (and print if you like), with comprehensive instructions for choosing your pattern, selecting your yarns, how to make your looms, and creating your project. The workbook also contains Suzy’s tips and tricks for weaving with non-standard loom shapes, and how to stabilise and use your woven pieces to sew up your project.

Video

Alongside the workbook you will also get Suzy’s 45 minute video, enhancing the information in the book, and demonstrating the techniques and methods for creating your pieces. You will have ongoing access to the video for the lifetime of the Fiberygoodness website.

Live Classes

During the four weeks of the course, you will also be invited to attend a live class tutorial with Suzy each week, where as a group we will be working together on choosing sewing patterns, selecting yarns, and hands-on creation of looms and weaving. These sessions will be recorded and available for three months post course start date, but it is highly recommended that you attend the live classes, which will be scheduled to accommodate as many time zones as possible!

No weaving experience is needed for this class, as we will be using plain weave techniques and Suzy will share some fun ways to add simple but effective design features to your pieces. It is useful if you have some sewing experience and are able to follow a basic sewing pattern.

I am very much looking forward to running this class, and especially the live classes, to get to know you and share some creative crafting time together!
