My Plying Dragons have been keeping me wonderfully busy and it is very gratifying to be shipping them off around the world to help spinners everywhere make a (tail) plying bracelet to ply up their bobbin ends and sample yarns, and in some cases up to 2 ounces of singles! One of my missions, just like with tinyStudio magazine, is to bring joy to our fiber-artist-lives with fun tools that can inspire creativity.
I also am really enjoying the whole ‘blind box’ approach, (see my previous blogpost to learn all about Plying Dragon Blind Boxes!) it means I can both keep up with supply without needing to ‘custom’ make each dragon ordered, and it gives us both a surprise when you ‘hatch’ your dragon and discover which colour you have bonded with!
However, I recently got a request for a custom dragon, and it was so cool I decided I needed to make it. And the result? I loved it so much I just had to make more as a special, limited edition!
These shimmering rainbow Plying Dragons will be available in a special ‘shop drop’ on
11am April 7 New Zealand time (remember we are a day ahead of most) .
This is a limited edition, but don’t worry about hovering over your keyboard to get in at shop drop time, if you miss the launch moment, I will continue to create these rainbow dragons to order for another two weeks (till 21 April) and you will be able to order until that date.
Painting these multicoloured beauties is a labour of love and I especially enjoy blending the colours into a harmonious graduation through the spectrum. It does take me longer to do but I will continue these with the same pricing as the ongoing ‘Blind Box’ painted dragons, because I would love to see these out in the world bringing their message of magic, empathy, and caring. Like the Blind box dragons they wlll also come with their own Collectors card, which includes some info on their unique characteristics and some idea prompts for using their special palettes in spinning and projects.
