Frequently Asked Questions (And their Answers)

Where do I go to sign up for the Golden Fleece Course?
-you can read all the information and sign up at the bottom of this page

How do I add my Avatar to use in the Members Forum?
– head on over to Gravatar.com  and follow the directions to upload your avatar. When
you come back to the Forum you should see your avatar showing up, if not, try
refreshing the page in your browser.

Where do I find the public Facebook Group for the Golden Fleece Fiber Creativity Course?
– You can join in the fun right HERE  This is a public (open) group on Facebook that we
have set up for course related postings, fun, and sharing.

How can I find out who my classmates are?
-We are not comfortable to simply post a list of everyones names on the internet, so we
are not providing a list of students at this time. However if you would like to share your
name and location, and see who else has done so, please post your name in the ‘Map’
thread in the forum and join in the global ‘Where We Are’ activity being arranged by our
Chief Cartographer Carrie! (Please note, this is accessible to course participants only).

Do I have to buy the loom?
-No, the loom purchase is a fun and optional addition to the course. If you want to make your final project a circular weaving you can also make a very simple one-use loom from cardboard too! We just think the Majacraft one is pretty, and useful, and cool, and a great way to commemorate your participation in the course with our logo on it!

Do I have to weave the final piece?
– Weaving the final piece is not compulsory, you can also knit, or crochet your circular form, in fact you can get as creative as you like, so long as your final piece meets a few of the simple guidelines we have specified in the last module.

      Hi Sylvi!
We send out the second module six weeks after you get the first, so you have six weeks to work through the thought prompts and make a yarn. Everyone works at different paces, but we think we have allowed plenty of time. If you have any problems keeping up with the Modules contact Arlene or myself and we can work something out 🙂 If you finish your module really early and are looking for more things to do, we will be sending out an email every Friday, that will sometimes contain instructions for extra, optional activities. I hope that answers your question well!

I have a question about the Golden Fleece Course.
Cost includes all the pdf materials, badge, etc.
What is the rough quantities, types of fiber used/needed for the module? Trying to estimate that part of the cost.

Hi Linda, the yardages for each module yarn are small — although you could make them lengthy if you wanted. Unless you are a brand new spinner, you would probably be able to work from your stash.

Question-Can I watch the videos offline?

I want to be able to watch them on my television, instead of my small phone screen. I have an amazon firestorm and can watch YouTube on the TV. Just not sure how, or if possible to watch the vimeo videos with the firestick.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks! My aging eyes thank you too!

Hi! I am not sure because I dont know enough about Firestorm, if you can run an internet browser on your TV though then you should be able to watch the videos on the website from there.
